The Last Chicken Standing

last chicken standing

Seven hatches. Six survivors. Ten weeks. Five roosters. A lone hen remains. I haven’t felt this short changed since the finale of “Lost.”

So we are left with one little barred rock. Here she is being introduced to the yard. You can see the big kids have already stolen her lunch and left her cowering in the cloak room.

I haven’t done a single bird introduction to this group before. It generally takes a while for acceptance and there may well be some chicken butt-kicking for a little while. You’ve made it this far, little bird. Good luck to you.
